My name is Sophia Ochs and I am an artist from the Seattle area. I studied at Tacoma Community College for two years during high school as part of the running start program and graduated with my associates degree. Currently, I am a visual communications major at Seattle Pacific University. In my classes I study graphic design, typography, interactive media, and motion graphics. After taking these courses, I hope to sharpen my skills as a designer and build a stronger portfolio of work. My interest in design began when I was young. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for drawing and creating art. As I grew older, my interest in the arts has led me to pursue a career as a graphic designer. In my free time, I enjoy drawing both digitally and with pencil on paper. My hobby has given me practice in creating appealing compositions and color schemes which is carried over into my design work as well. I am drawn to design because it can be used as a powerful tool to communicate information and ideas to others.
